on the way from school
Natalie: Maman, I am thirsty
Mom: once we get home I'll give you something to drink. What would you like?
Natalie: sparkling water with juice
Mom: we do not have sparkling water anymore.
Nat: can't we go to the store now
Mom: no
Natalie: why not
Mom: because it is raining now and it is too heavy to carry. We'll ask papa to buy some
Natalie: why don't you buy a cart on wheels. That would certainly help!

Reptiles
Rachel: mom do you know what reptiles are?
Mom: no, could you please tell me
Rachel: eh, reptiles are.... dinosaurs, whales, crocodiles and they are very dangerous.
Definition is a little bit off but it is a start

playing school/Ms. Tricia
Rachel put my reading glasses on (yes I know) and decided that she was Dr. Mom.
5 min later, she was the teacher Ms. tricia and read us a book.
Rachel: they are 2 rules. Thte first one being that you have to raise your hand if you want to ask a question. The 2nd one is that you have to keep quiet.
I asked a question without raising my hand and I was sentenced to go and sit on a chair on my own (which I did not do). Sometimes I really wonder if her eacher is so tough...

mom: Heidi, NO. Stop that, come here
Rachel: maman, speak softly to Heidi. Just say "Heidi please come here"

dressing up/ Rachel to the rescue
Natalie loves to dress up and of course to undress. You'll find her wearing different sets of clothes during the day. The winner is of course her princess dress.
The morning ritual is a little bit more hectic for dad since Natalie refuses to wear this or that, then cries, then asks for help, and then refuses your help since she wants to do it herself.
Rachel is been playing the big sister. She speaks calmly to Natalie and miracle, she lets her sister help her.
Thank you Rachel
