Since Helen has sent us that NY Times article where the author asks about our best chilhood memories and mentions that parents nowadays tend to overprotect their kids and do not let them play like they did where they were kids.. I let Rachel and Natalie play outside in the fenced backyard with water and yes sand and dirt (thing I would not have tolerated before... - Thank you Helen). Oh they have a blast and keep asking if they can really do this and that. The look on Natalie's face tells it all.

biking with dad

Saturday, the girls went biking and dad followed them on foot around the block while I worked in the front yard. It was a sunny day and it had been raining so hard the day before that it was the perfect moment to get all the weeds out.
We all had a great time.
The next day the weather was rather cold (40s) and guess what. They went biking again.

My parents are coming for spring break and they will be looking after the girls for a few days while I work and then we will all spend time together.
I mentioned to Rachel that she could do maybe a few half days at the after-school daycare which will be open for them (she loves it there, they do so many art projects, she is in total paradise), but she replied: "OH NON I WANT TO SPEND TIME WITH GRANDMA"
